The Meaning

The temple is not a building. It is the body — the instrument through which the divine expresses itself in the world. And joy is not a feeling to be chased. It is the essence of what happens when we offer ourselves fully in service, when our unique gifts meet the needs of others.

Temple of Joy is a name that holds both: the sacredness of who we are and the happiness that flows from living that truth outward.

Why This Exists

Devotees of Paramhansa Yogananda are everywhere — in hundreds of countries, in every kind of city and countryside. They are musicians and healers, writers and teachers, builders and listeners. And yet it has always been hard for us to find each other.

Temple of Joy bridges that gap. It is a living community, not bound to any single center or ashram, that welcomes devotees across lineages. Whether you trained at an Ananda center, a Self-Realization Fellowship temple, or found the teachings on your own — if the path resonates with you, you belong here.

How It Started

This project was born on a drive home from a retreat. A conversation about how hard it is to find a fellow devotee who also happens to be a skilled graphic designer, a yoga teacher, a sound healer, or a carpenter willing to offer seva. The idea was simple: what if we had a place to say "here I am, and here is what I offer"?

That conversation became this community.

What This Is Not

Temple of Joy is not a marketplace. There are no prices, no transactions, no ratings, no reviews. It is not a platform designed to compete or to monetize. It is simply a way of making the invisible visible — of letting devotees know that others like them exist, and that their gifts are wanted.
